Growing up near the coastal areas of my hometown, I developed a great affinity for beaches and swimming. When I was younger, I almost always went to the shore every weekend to swim with friends, pick up seashells or just to admire the beautiful sunset. Needless to say, when I started working in the city, far from the beautiful coast I grew up in, I started missing all my trips to the beach. Given the busy work schedule that I have, doing the activities I used to enjoy as a child seems like a rarity.
However, when time allows, I make sure to plan beach outings with my
closest friends and colleagues. Just recently, my friends and I went to a beautiful
island here in Cebu to enjoy the sea and the view. Visiting the island made me
overjoyed and reminded me of my childhood and how much I missed enjoying the
simple things in life. I wish I had the opportunity to do this more often, but
for now, I'll just continue wishing.
