James-Liverpool Football Club

If you like football, you might have heard the exciting news that the Japanese National Team member and former J-League Rookie of the Year, Takumi Minamino, has recently joined Liverpool FC in the English Premier League. Not only is Minamino the first Japanese player to play for Liverpool, but he has joined at a very exciting time for the club and its fans. Why is it exciting?

Well, Liverpool were once considered one of the strongest teams in the UK and Europe, winning a total of eighteen English Championships and four European Cups before 1990 – a record for any English team at the time. However, it's now been thirty years since they last won the English League.

Recently though, under the leadership of German manager Jurgen Klopp, the team has begun to regain its former strength. They have come close to winning the league again on a number of occasions; most recently last year when, despite only losing one match, they finished second behind Manchester City.

This year, they have their best chance of once again winning the league. Having played twenty-seven out of thirty-eight games, Liverpool have won twenty-six and drawn one, and now have a twenty-two-point lead over their rivals. With Minamino lending his skill and strength, Liverpool fans throughout the world are hoping that this year will finally be the year when they once again become champions.

I hope you will join us in supporting Liverpool and Minamino!

Fingers crossed!

Ulysses- Street Food in the US

When you think of street food, the United States probably isn't one of the countries that first comes to mind. In the last decade, however, there has been a bit of a street food boom in the US - all thanks to food trucks.

The modern food truck trend began during the recovery from the Great Recession of 2008 and 2009. For budding restauranteurs and recently laid-off chefs, food trucks were an economical way of starting a business, and for customers, keeping up with the locations of popular food trucks became a kind of hobby. And as with all things, social media helped speed things up, bringing food trucks and hungry customers together.

In my hometown of Los Angeles today, it's not uncommon to spot a food truck roaming the streets or posted up in a parking lot. Local festivals, concerts and other public events also feature food trucks serving up a wide range of tasty meals from fast food to gourmet.

If you're out and about and find yourself a food truck, why not give it a shot? You might be pleasantly surprised. And don't forget to snap a selfie for social media!
