One of the major holidays for Christians aside from Christmas is Holy Week. It is the day when Jesus Christ suffered, was crucified, died, and was resurrected. What makes the Philippines unique? Every place in the Philippines has different ways of celebrating this valuable day. 

One of which can be experienced in the very small province of Camiguin, where devotees hike 64 kilometers around the island either as an act of penance or as a fulfillment of their promise. After the long walk, people have to climb a mountain where you can see big statues depicting the Passion of Christ. 

It may sound exhausting, but all throughout the journey, you can see a scenic view of the island. You can also meet a lot of locals handing out food, drinks, a place to rest for a bit, and expressing encouraging words that will boost your determination to finish your goal.
