Fall traditions
We are already into fall, also commonly referred to as autumn. I want to talk about some of the fall traditions in the USA.
In Japan, there is a big emphasis on fall cuisine. I know that sweet potatoes, chestnuts, persimmons, and so on are quite the craze come this time of year. In the US, however, the most popular food eaten in fall would be the Thanksgiving turkey. Other than Thanksgiving turkey, pumpkin pie also comes to mind as a very popular dish in fall.
Another essential part of fall for the majority of Americans, myself included, is the start of American football season. American football is by far the most popular sport in the US with millions of viewers tuning in every week to watch. Many Americans look forward to watching the football games on Thanksgiving after getting stuffed with all that turkey and pumpkin pie.

早くも秋🍂♪オータムとも呼ばれる季節になりました。今回は、アメリカの秋の風物詩についてお話ししたいと思います。
日本では、秋と言えば料理と言ったイメージが強く、この時期になると、サツマイモや栗、柿一色になりますよね☺しかし、アメリカでは、秋に食べられる最も人気な食べ物は、サンクスギビングのターキー（七面鳥）🐔。サンクスギビング・ターキーのほかには、パンプキン・パイも秋の人気料理です。
もうひとつ、私も含めて大多数のアメリカ人にとって秋に欠かせないのは、アメリカンフットボールです。アメリカンフットボールはアメリカで最も人気のあるスポーツであり、毎週何百万人もの視聴者が観戦に訪れます。多くのアメリカ人は、ターキーとパンプキンパイでお腹がいっぱいになった後に、フットボールの試合を見るのをとても楽しみにしているんですよ～⚽♡
