sono sicuro voi già sappiate, Natale è la festa che rende felici milioni di
persone (ma soprattutto bambini) in tutto il mondo ogni anno il 25 di Dicembre.
In Italia, diversamente da paesi generalmente non-cristiani come il Giappone, i
festeggiamenti non si limitano a tale giorno, ma abbracciano un arco che
comprende il 24 Dicembre, la cosiddetta Vigilia di Natale, e, in alcune
famiglie come la mia, il 26, ovvero Santo Stefano. Ci sono vari motivi per essere
felici a Natale: è un'occasione per salutare e abbracciare parenti che non
vedevi da molto tempo; si ricevono regali di cui non sapevi di avere bisogno;
ma, soprattutto, si mangia a non finire! La mia ricetta natalizia preferita è
il cappone ripieno, una vera delizia!

As I'm sure you already know, Christmas is the holiday
that makes millions of people (but especially children) happy all over the
world each year on December 25th. In Italy, unlike in generally non-Christian
countries such as Japan, the celebrations are not limited to this day, but
embrace an arc that includes December 24th, the so-called Christmas Eve, and,
in some families like mine, the 26th, or Santo Stefano. There are various
reasons to be happy at Christmas: it is an opportunity to greet and hug
relatives you haven't seen for a long time; you receive gifts you didn't know
you needed; but, above all, you eat to no end! My favorite Christmas recipe is
stuffed capon, a real treat!

すでにご存じだと思いますが、クリスマスは毎年12月25日に世界中の何百万人もの人々（特に子どもたち）を幸せにする祝日です。イタリアでは、日本のような一般的な非キリスト教国とは異なり、お祝いはその日だけではなく、12月24日のいわゆるクリスマスイブから、私の家族のように、26日の聖ステファノの日までを含めた期間で行われます。クリスマスには幸せな理由がたくさんあります。長い間会っていなかった親戚に挨拶したり、必要ないと思っていたプレゼントをもらったり、そして何よりもたくさん食べることができます。私のお気に入りのクリスマスレシピは、詰め物をしたチキンです。
