In the Philippines, a "public market" is referred to as a "palengke”. A “palengke” is a designated area where vendors sell a variety of fresh produce, food items, and other goods directly to the public. Essentially, it's a bustling open-air marketplace where people can buy everyday necessities at affordable prices.

As a food lover who enjoys cooking with local ingredients, I always make sure that my ingredients are fresh, affordable, and readily available. Every afternoon after work, I visit the public market near my home. It excites me to see the variety of fresh local products at very affordable prices and to explore the stalls where skilled vendors showcase their crafts. The lively atmosphere, filled with the chatter of fellow shoppers, adds to the experience too.
