Pétanque is a sport that is played with a minimum of two players. You can play as a team or with others. Each player has several balls at their disposal and the objective is to throw the ball and bring it as close as possible to the jack. This jack is several meters in front of you, on the "boules pitch".

This sport is played a lot in the south of France. But I also had the opportunity to play it with friends near my home in Lyon. It's not so popular with the very young but that's not such a bad thing because it can be a little dangerous (because of the weight of the balls).

C'est un sport trè‌‌s amusant et plein de stratégie. D'ailleurs si ma mémoire est bonne, il existe des joueurs professionnels de pé‌‌tanque et des championnats.

It's a very fun sport and full of strategy. And what's more, if my memory serves me well, there are professional petanque players and championships.

 Malheueusement, je ne pense pas qu'il soit si populaire à‌‌ l'étranger et c'est bien dommage. Mais ceci est l'occasion pour vous tous de découvrir ce sport et mê‌me pourquoi pas, de l'essayer.
